1904 HKN is founded
1904 - Eta Kappa Nu founded
1906 - Electrical Field Published Annually, which would later become the BRIDGE
1907- Beta Chapter established at Purdue University
1910 - The BRIDGE published annually
1927- The HKN Shield and Coat-of-Arms Adopted
1928 - First Paid Staff (Executive Secretary)
1932 - Outstanding Chapter Award established

1936 - Outstanding Young Electrical Engineer Award established (now know as the Young Professional Award)
1949 - First Woman inducted into Eta Kappa Nu
1950 - Eminent Member Recognition Established
1951 - HKN Incorporated
1955 - Engineering A Career for Tomorrow film produced
1964 - Outstanding Senior Award established (now known as the Outstanding Student Award)
1964 - 100th Student Chapter Charter
1967 - Engineering: the Challenge of the Future film produced

1971- Distinguished Service Award established
1972 - Outstanding Educator Award established (now known as the Outstanding Teaching Award)
1992 - Karapetoff Outstanding Technical Award established
2002 - First Student Leadership Conference at Iowa University
2004- HKN Centennial Celebration

HKN goes global!

2010 - Merger with IEEE
2012 - First Chapters Chartered outside U.S. in Hong Kong, New Delhi, and Nova Scotia
2012 - BRIDGE transitioned from a print publication to a digital Magazine
2013 - First Founders Day Celebrated
2014 - Key Chapter recognition created
2014 - First Student Governor elected to serve on HKN Board of Governors
2018 - Debut of Pathways to Industry Conference
2019 - Asad Madni Outstanding Technical Achievement & Excellence Award established
2020 - Alumni Newsletter launched
