There are numerous reason for why that could be. Below are some reasons why:
- You have multiple IEEE accounts and the HKN designation is under an older IEEE account. This is usually caused when a member already has an account but uses an alternate or new email at the time of signing up. (This tends to be the most common case.)
- At the time of your induction, the Chapter may have not submitted paper work properly or submitted an incorrect payment causing the induction to be held up or withdrawn.
- Your name is different now compared to when you were inducted so you may have another IEEE account.
