University of California, Los Angeles, Iota Gamma Chapter

Eta Kappa Nu, Iota Gamma chapter (IEEE-HKN) is the UCLA chapter of HKN, an international honor society for electrical and computer engineering. The Iota Gamma chapter at UCLA seeks to empower fellow engineering students to excel in personal and professional settings, while also lowering the barrier to entry for new students to our field.

By organizing peer-to-peer tutoring, workshops, course review sessions, and career fairs, HKN at UCLA serves our community, connecting engineering students with the best resources to help them succeed in academics, connect with faculty, and explore their career options. Our most popular events include review sessions, company info sessions, professor lunches, lab tours, and resume reviews. We also coordinate an outreach program at community colleges in the Los Angeles area, and organize events for prospective students to learn more about ECE at UCLA.

We are sponsored by the UCLA ECE Department and part of the international honor society IEEE-HKN.

Being in HKN has made my college experience much more memorable. It’s easy to get lost in a school as large as UCLA, but HKN has become a close-knit, supportive community for me. I’ve made some great friends here and, other than adding a lot of fun experiences to my time in undergrad, they inspire me to work harder towards pursuing my own goals and ambitions.
