University of Florida, Epsilon Sigma Chapter

Our Chapter strives to nurture exceptional academic achievement, career development, and student involvement in our members.

We host tutoring sessions within the CISE and ECE departments where members can attend review sessions to prepare for exams. Additionally, members can lead or assist review sessions to share their knowledge and skills with the UF community.

We bring in professors from all different areas of the ECE department to talk about their research, which allows our members to explore the full range of topics in the fields of electrical and computer engineering and make useful connections for the future.

We conduct numerous social events every semester to bring members and candidates together as a tight-knit organization. Our intramural trivia team is a force to be reckoned with.

We also have a strong tradition of community service to give back to the Gainesville community and inspire K-12 students to pursue electrical engineering. Our chapter’s joint IEEE/HKN outreach team placed first in the SoutheastCon 2024 outreach competition.

what chapter members are saying

HKN has given me the chance to get to know so many great people I don’t think I’d have the chance to know otherwise. During my time here, I’ve also felt myself develop both as an engineer and as a leader and I’m proud to say that I’m serving as our Chapter’s president for the 2024/25 term year

George Rauta

HKN has given me so many opportunities over the years that I don't think I'd be where I am now without it. I know the future is bright for Epsilon Sigma chapter and future members will have even better, opportunities than I had.

Brenden Mears

Epsilon Sigma chapter is a very tight-knit community that has pushed me to be better in all facets of life. I have made lifelong friends during my time in HKN

Matthew Hershfield

I would like to nominate Brenden Mears for president of Epsilon Sigma chapter.
