Inspire Students in Today’s Virtual Learning Environment

By September 1, 2020 No Comments
In today’s virtual learning environment, teachers are looking for creative ways to engage their students. The TryEngineering Together eMentoring Program is key in meeting these challenges. It is an innovative, literacy-based eMentoring program developed in partnership between IEEE and Cricket Media.
The program connects adult volunteers (eMentors) with 3rd to 5th grade students in under-served classrooms. Via online letters, volunteers and their student penpals discuss important STEM topics covered in the articles you read together. All communications are delivered digitally through the safe, online TryEngineering Together platform. This proven learning program helps improve children’s reading, writing and STEM skills. Within a few hours a month, you will be able to directly impact children as they gain confidence in their STEM skills.
The volunteer opportunity begins with a 1-hour training webinar in late October. Communication with your student begins in early November and concludes in June. There are a limited number of spaces available. If interested in volunteering, please register no later than 9 October (click Create an Account).
