On August 24, 2023, the Nu Theta chapter of IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu (IEEE-HKN) at Purdue University Northwest was officially approved by the IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu Board of Governors. This approval paved the way for a new chapter dedicated to recognizing excellence in electrical and computer engineering. The formal establishment of the chapter was celebrated with an installation and induction ceremony on October 19, 2023, where the founding members were welcomed. This event not only marked a pivotal moment for Purdue University Northwest but also reinforced the university’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and leadership in engineering disciplines.

Purdue University Northwest’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is part of its College of Engineering and Sciences. Students can choose to specialize in areas such as mechatronics, and power and energy systems. The vision of the ECE Department at Purdue University Northwest is to improve the quality of life, economy, and environment of the region and the world by educating a competitive, innovative, and ethical engineering workforce.
Hammond, Indiana
Hammond, Indiana, an integral part of the Chicago metropolitan area, is unique as the only Indiana city bordering Chicago.
