Celebrating HKN Scholars in Power & Energy

IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu proudly celebrates 44 of our Student Members who have been awarded the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) Scholarship Plus Initiative.

The IEEE PES Scholarship Plus Initiative recognizes high-performing undergraduate students with an interest in the power & energy industry with scholarships and connections to real-world career experiences. PES Scholars receive up to US$10,000 towards education expenses, mentoring from industry professionals, and connections to internships.

NEW FOR 2025: IEEE PES is proud to announce that a wider range of undergraduate students will now be eligible to apply to become PES Scholars.

Undergraduate students pursuing a degree that falls under one of the IEEE designated field of interest are eligible to apply. This includes: Engineering, Computer Sciences and Information Technology, Physical Sciences, Biological and Medical Sciences, Mathematics, Technical Communications, Education, Management, and Law and Policy.

Applications for the 2026/27 Scholarship Plus Application Opens January 20th, 2026

Together, HKN and PES are cultivating the next generation of engineers who will drive advancements in sustainable energy, smart grid technology, and global infrastructure, reinforcing their shared mission to empower students and strengthen the future of the profession.
