IEEE-HKN eminent member, Frank Chang, and his wife Shelley Chang have generously created a new scholarship and an award to recognize exceptional students and professionals in IEEE’s Region 10. The Frank and Shelley Chang Outstanding Student Scholarship seeks to provide one IEEE-HKN student (undergraduate or graduate) who is currently studying full-time at a university in Region 10 with a $1,000 scholarship. The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize an individual in electrical and computer engineering, computer science, and other relevant applied science field of study who has distinguished themselves in academic achievement, service, and as a role model on campus and in their community. Qualified students may apply for this scholarship by 5 May 2025.
The Frank and Shelley Chang Outstanding Young Scholar Award will be presented to exceptional young engineers working in Region 10 for less than 15 years post-graduation who have demonstrated significant accomplishments in their career. Students are ineligible to apply. This award rewards a young scholar’s achievements based on their innovative scientific advancements, leadership, entrepreneurial characteristics, and dedication to improving society through their work. Nominations can be made here and must be completed by 5 May 2025 (Self-nominations are not permitted) The award is $2,000 and may be presented at a Region 10 meeting.
The annual selection of scholarship and award recipients will be administered by IEEE-HKN. We are grateful for this gift that will help so many outstanding Region 10 students and professionals!
