How do I report new officers?

Report new and returning officers, remove former officers and manage your Officer positions through
IEEE’s vTools Officer Reporting system.  This will allow us to keep track of chapter leaders and contact chapters on matters of IEEE-HKN.

If this is your first time using vTools or if you need a refresher on any part of the process, please use the step-by-step guide located here.

The vTools system requires you to input the names of chapter leaders as well as their IEEE numbers. If you do not have a chapter leaders IEEE number please reach out to them prior to submission. If a chapter leader cannot find or does not know their IEEE number please redirect them to the following link to the IEEE Support Center.  As of 2019, the reporting newly elected officers is also a requirement for the Key Chapter Recognition.

2 important things to note while updating your officer information in vTools:

• Only list your Chapter officers in the corresponding position titles beginning with ‘HKN‘
• There are 10 HKN Chapter Officer positions available.  These can be used to list alternative officer positions (as noted below) that you do not see listed.  We are not able to add new position titles in vTools.

Most Chapters have the following positions:

• Department Head
• Faculty Advisor
• President
• Vice President
• Treasurer
• Recording Secretary
• Corresponding Secretary
• Chapter Officer (You can report alternative positions such as Webmaster, Chair, etc. in this position)
