University of Detroit Mercy, Beta Sigma Chapter
The Beta Sigma Chapter of IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu at the University of Detroit Mercy represents the highest ideals of scholarship, leadership, character, and service in electrical and computer engineering. Since its establishment, our chapter has recognized students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement while fostering a lifelong commitment to professional excellence and service to the engineering community.
As the honor society of IEEE, IEEE-HKN connects outstanding students, faculty, alumni, and industry professionals through mentorship, leadership, and technical engagement. Beta Sigma serves as a community where academic excellence extends beyond the classroom, encouraging members to become innovators, researchers, educators, and ethical engineering leaders.
Our chapter is committed to advancing engineering through professional development, outreach, tutoring, technical workshops, community service, and collaboration with industry. Whether mentoring younger students, organizing technical events, or representing the University of Detroit Mercy at regional and national conferences, Beta Sigma strives to leave a lasting impact both on campus and within the engineering profession.
Guided by the values of integrity, service, lifelong learning, and innovation, the Beta Sigma Chapter celebrates those who pursue excellence while inspiring others to do the same. We are proud to continue a tradition of recognizing exceptional engineers and building a stronger future for our university, our profession, and our communities.
Together, we honor achievement, cultivate leadership, and inspire the next generation of engineers.
