Iowa State University, Nu Chapter

The IEEE-HKN chapter at Iowa State University was founded in 1916. Over the past 100 years, HKN has acknowledged students who go above in beyond, not only in their academic lives but also in society. Although the chapter recognizes these students, HKN has a much broader purpose. HKN strives to be a helping hand throughout the community while fostering character and leadership within each member. Thus, our chapter runs a help room for students in our majors in addition to other community service projects throughout the semester. Due to our dedication to improving the lives of those around us, we have won the Outstanding Chapter Award for 7 years in a row. We also have received an “Outstanding K-12 Outreach Award” from Iowa State University in 2017.
