IEEE-HKN is pleased to announce that it has received a 2026 APEX Awards for Publication Excellence marking our 13th consecutive year of being recognized for its publication, THE BRIDGE. Burt Dicht, Editor-In-Chief and Steve Watkins, Guest Editor and 2018 IEEE-HKN President, won in the category of Writing/Type of Media—History and Biography for THE BRIDGE, Issue 1, Volume 121, “Advancement of Technology Using Slide Rules” This issue showcased the various designs and specializations of slides rules and how they propelled technological break throughs. The issue had a companion website where IEEE Life Members shared their personal stories about how they had learned engineering principles using slide rules. Congratulations to all the winners and the entire BRIDGE Editorial Board who consistently produces a quality magazine!
The BRIDGE is the official publication of Eta Kappa Nu (HKN), the honor society of IEEE, and has been published since 1910. It is distributed electronically to over 30,000 HKN students and alumni.
