Thank you for making the 2022 Student Leadership Conference the largest one ever!
On 28-30 October, 2022, over 250 students, Chapter advisors, recruiters, IEEE Society members, HKN Board members and staff gathered at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte to learn, network, and share best practices. As the first in-person gathering since 2019, the HKN Student Leadership Conference attracted participants from 54 Chapters from 5 different countries, representing an 8.5 % increase in attendance.
At the Student Leadership Conference, Chapter officers and members honed their leadership skills, shared their successes and struggles , and heard from industry experts on how to prepare for their future careers. A robust Recruitment Fair with over 26 IEEE societies, companies, and graduate school sponsors allowed students to learn first-hand about job/internship opportunities and how to further their educational goals. We are excited to report that many job and internship offers were made as a result. Participants celebrated Founders Day on Friday night and were treated to an Awards Dinner at the NASCAR Hall of Fame on Saturday where Chapters and volunteers were recognized for their accomplishments. Generous funding for the event was provided by the Samueli Foundation.
