University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez, Lambda Tau Chapter

The Lambda Tau chapter of the Eta Kappa Nu was officially inducted in May 2014. Our chapter is dedicated to encourage and recognize excellence in STEM fields located at University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez and uphold the standards and credo that compose HKN’s mission and vision. Candidates and members who have demonstrated exceptional academic and professional accomplishments shall be able to grow intellectually and personally in an innovative environment by engaging in HKN technical, professional and community outreach activities.

The College of Engineering at the University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez (UPRM) is one of four UPRM Colleges in the Mayagüez Campus. With a historic enrollment of about 5,000 undergraduate and over 250 graduate students, the College is also the largest of its kind in Puerto Rico. It is one of the top producers of Hispanic engineers in the United States of America, according to the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE). Our Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, Software, Computer Science, and Mechanical Engineering programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, www.abet.org. Also, our Surveying and Topography program is accredited by the Applied and Natural Science Accreditation Commission of ABET and the Computer Science and Engineering program has a dual accreditation with the Computing Science and Engineering Accreditation Commissions of ABET, www.abet.org.
