University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Alpha Chapter

Maurice Carr founded Eta Kappa Nu in 1904 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Campaign (UIUC). Over a hundred years later, the Alpha Chapter is still thriving with over 250 students as active members serving the UIUC Electrical and Computer Engineering department and the greater community. HKN Alpha completes over 1000 hours of service annually through one-on-one tutoring, review sessions before exams in core courses, and outreach programs such as children’s electronics and soldering workshops. Additionally, we host professional development opportunities, online academic resources, and power lunches with professors for our members and the UIUC ECE student body. "I wouldn't have nearly as many friends or had as many cool opportunities if I hadn't join HKN Alpha."

Steven Kolaczkowski

I liked how in depth the presenters explained even the simple concepts, really helpful for someone who's fallen a bit behind.

HKN has been a huge help to me over my college career - it got me the opportunity to further myself as a professional.
